Becoming Familiar with Devices

In the effort to have students become familiar with Chromebooks from Week 1, teachers had students create "All About Me Google Slides" using Google Slides. Many students were new to the Google Environment in which they had to fiddle their way through how things work.  To organize information, teachers utilized  Google Classroom to assign and collect student work.

Launching a 1:1 Campus

So this year, our district is rolling out a 1:1 Chromebook initiative. There are many questions asked by teachers, parents, students and even myself!! This is the first time that I have ever been a part of a district-wide roll out, but we have a talented team to help ensure a successful roll out. This summer we have been visiting different campuses introducing digital citizenship, true technology integration, and other  relevant topics to what teachers / students might face with a device in hand.
